The biggest and powerful nuclear Arctic ice breaker in the world will be floated in May. Reported the correspondent about it. TASS in the press service of "Baltic Shipyard".

The Russian Federation, the USA, and also six more states, entering into the Arctic advice (EXPERT) will finish in the near future creation of new system of operative cooperation and a co-ordination of action on the sea in region of Arctic regions. It is dictated by requirement to provide safety in the Arctic waters. Also it is supposed that creation of such system will strengthen links between the countries and will solve a problem with safety in waters of Arctic regions. Experts believe that the given forum will lead to strengthening of the international cooperation.

In a shelf of the most surprising courts of world fleet the next replenishment has taken place. The spring of 2015 in St.-Petersburg had been lifted the Russian flag on a multipurpose vessel "Baltic" - the first-ever asymmetric ice breaker, or as this newest class of ship still name, the ice breaker of a slanting course.

The United States needs more icebreakers. The country has a growing national interest in the Arctic, and its relations with Russia, a dominant force in the region, are increasingly chilly. Yet Washington is woefully unprepared for the Arctic challenge when it comes to one crucial tool: the mighty nuclear-powered vessels that would support its economic and security objectives in the high north.

The Northern Sea Route between the European part of Russia and the Far East may well be in the long term alternative to the Suez Canal. A special attraction of this transport artery gets right now - Arctic ice melt and create corridors suitable for tanker shipping. Plus Russia will be able to use it to implement new Arctic projects, including - the development of the Lomonosov Ridge.
