Attending the event, the head of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko said that the head of the project 22220 icebreaker "Arktika" will be involved in the export of liquefied natural gas in the framework of the project "Yamal LNG". It is expected that for this purpose it will be used in 2018, the corresponding contracts for 18 million tons of liquefied gas have already been concluded.

Recall, the new nuclear-powered icebreaker, founded in 2013, is to open new possibilities for Russia's defense capability and strengthen the presence of Russia in the Arctic. The vessel is 73.3 meters, width - 34 meters. Commissioning will take place in December 2017.
