In Moscow, the vectors will discuss the development of the Arctic

Conference "International Cooperation in the Arctic: Challenges and new vectors of development" will be held October 12-13 in Moscow in hotel "President Hotel" and the Lotte Hotel Moscow.

The event is timed to the 20th anniversary of the Arctic Council and continues to a detailed study of the international aspects of cooperation in the Arctic region, initiated by the Russian Council on Foreign Affairs in 2011.

The meeting participants will discuss the mechanisms of peace, cooperation and sustainable development in the Arctic, the legal framework for the countries and companies in the region, as well as decide whether the Arctic oil and gas deposits and transport routes are the prospects for commercial development.

Within the framework of the individual expert sessions will cover topics of regulation of shipping in the Bering Strait, military and environmental security in the Arctic, the role of the media in the coverage of Arctic issues.

Organizer of the forum for international cooperation in the Arctic: New Challenges and vectors of development "serves Russian Council on International Affairs (INF) with the support of the Office of the Government of Russia and the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The purpose of the conference - to define the contours of the institutional development of the Arctic Council, the prospects of legal regulation of activity in the Arctic, the potential economic projects in the region.

Participants of the discussion made by the heads of relevant ministries and agencies, diplomats, representatives of big business, leading experts of the Member States of the Arctic Council. One of the speakers will be the editor in chief of the news agency "Arctic-Info" Inna Kabanova.
