Specialists of the technical Committee of Rosstandart "research In the polar regions" have prepared projects of more than 20 state standards to improve the safety of work in the Arctic zone. The Committee expects that they will be adopted this year — - said TASS head of the Committee Nikita Kuprikov.

"These are the standards that define the requirements for the infrastructure of polar stations, for fire safety, for information signs to be used in the Arctic, for the processes that are carried out by our organizations and scientists during the research. The standards have already been developed, now there are public discussions, we hope that they will be adopted in 2019," Nikita Kuprikov said.

He noted that the rigidity of the requirements and recommendations increases the safety of human activities in the Arctic, previously there were no such standards. In particular, among the planned norms are environmental requirements for polar research, requirements for the safety of tourist groups in the Arctic, for the operation of aircraft in the Far North. Also, the innovations will affect the requirements for training specialists to work in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.

"Requirements for specialized training of people working in polar conditions have been developed. This standard will prescribe recommendations for educational institutions that train such personnel, will indicate the competencies that a person working in the polar region should have," the head of the Committee explained.

He noted that the staff of the research center "polar initiative" plans to begin work on the preparation of specialized professional standards for certain Arctic specialties.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that this area is part of the Russian zone of interests

The Arctic is part of the Russian zone of interests, so the Russian Federation will not miss its influence on this territory. About it in interview to the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" said Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov.

"This territory is the sphere of Russia's interests. We will not miss and will not give, " he said.

Earlier, the commander of the U.S. Navy in Europe and Africa Admiral James Foggo said that the Arctic should remain a free and open space, despite the fact that Russia considers its territory. In November 2018, the Chairman of the Committee of chiefs of staff of the us Armed forces, General Joseph Dunford, expressed the opinion that Russia is expanding its military presence in the Arctic, and the United States does not exclude the possibility of turning this region into a conflict zone in the future.

Moscow has consistently rejected the claims of Western politicians to increase its military presence in other regions and about any of its actions, which are allegedly aimed at violating international order.

Arctic again in the center of the scandal

The representatives of the paramilitary system of the United States again going to move into the territory of the Arctic warship. This time a similar action is planned for the summer of this year. Especially on the island of Adak, which is located in Alaska, the us military will establish its base.

All because Washington is concerned about the military strengthening of the Russian Federation in the region and China's obvious plans to open the "Polar silk road".

Also, the US is very concerned that Russia will manage the Northern route through the sea, which opens due to melting ice. The transport system from China to the European Union will also pass through this territory. Why does the US need the Arctic so much?

Control

In order to avoid a dangerous situation, when Russia controls the military, and China – the economy, the United States, in turn, plans to increase the number of its military in the region. The Navy will expand in the Arctic due to climate change, first of all. The latter involve the discovery of ocean waters and rivalry between the three countries for leadership in the Far North.

One of the us strategies involves ensuring freedom of navigation and responding to excessive efforts to strengthen control in the Arctic by some countries, as stated by Richard Spencer, who is the Minister of the us Navy. It is also known that the Pentagon is building a military base, which it plans to place in the Arctic, with a full complement of soldiers, ships and reconnaissance aircraft.

US objectives

One of the goals of America is the rebuff of the Russian Federation, which has the largest border with the Arctic and a huge amount of military presence, the effect of which is enhanced by monitoring the rich natural resources of the region. With China, too, is not all good, in this case, the US is going to reduce the entrepreneurial ambitions of China and get another free way to conclude deals with the countries of the European Union.

Anatoly Shirokov, who holds a post in the Federation Council from the Magadan region, has very liberal political views. He believes that the us dissatisfaction with the Arctic is easily explained. For example, he talked about the fact that the United States of the Maritime trade route in the first place, is the Northern sea route. He has recently been on the territory of the Russian Federation. For this reason, the US, Canada and Norway are trying to take the NSR to their "hands", at the same time completely depriving the Russian Federation of the right to own this territory.
